SOSOS , a Fort Lauderdale based Americana band whose music is solely based around acoustic root instruments, releases their third album “naturally". Three years in the making, this is the first of the band’s albums to signify the collaborative musical writing of Mitch Herrick and Chris Monteleone.
Remaining true to its organic brand, “naturally” is no exception to the sound that SOSOS is known for - acoustic guitar, banjo, resonator, piano, pump organ, violin, harmonica, drums, upright bass and four-way vocal harmonies that generate a folksy feeling representative of their down home roots.
This album is reminiscent of the yin and yang without being the yin-and-yang. SOSOS are not symmetry, but more of a dichotomy in a way, yet they seem to balance each other out. While singers, songwriters, and musicians Herrick and Monteleone each have their own distinct writing styles, they still feed and influence each other. Creating a balance that is personal to them and the band. And in ways, perhaps free each other, by doing what they do, together, in their collaborative musical efforts. It’s a unique balance of dialogue. One side wants to take root and the other side wants to fly free. This album showcases that counterbalance and delivers one symbiotic collection with SOSOS notoriously melodic and poetic tune at the heart.
SOSOS also welcomes the additions of Kelly Halloran on violin and Pete Vega on drums!
